The New England Patriots’ preseason schedule has been released. And it starts at home.
The Patriots will begin the four-game slate at Gillette Stadium against quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. From there, it’ll be onto New Orleans to face cornerback Brandon Browner and the Saints in Week 2. Then in Week 3, the Patriots will head to Carolina to face the Panthers. And lastly, the preseason will come to a close in Foxborough versus a familiar opponent, the New York Giants, now featuring halfback Shane Vereen and linebacker Jonathan Casillas.
Times and exact dates of the preseason games have not yet been announced.
Aug. 13-19: Patriots vs. Packers
Aug. 20-24: Patriots at New Orleans Saints
Aug. 27-30: Patriots at Carolina Panthers
Sept. 3-4: Patriots vs. New York Giants
The Patriots had joint practices with the Washington Redskins leading up to the first preseason game last year, and it’s possible the organization could hold the same with the Packers to start this year. Another option for joint sessions is the Saints, who’ve worked alongside the Patriots a couple times before, and now hold training camp at a new facility in West Virginia.
