The New England Patriots are scheduled to meet with center Bryan Stork’s former teammate.
Florida State defensive tackle Eddie Goldman has a pre-draft visit lined up with the Patriots, as well as ones with the Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions, according to Matt Miller of Bleacher Report.
The 6-foot-4, 336-pound Goldman appeared in 10 games for the Seminoles in 2012, before starting 13 in 2013 and all 14 in 2014.
He collected 35 tackles, eight tackles for loss, four sacks, a batted pass and a forced fumble during his final season in Tallahassee, on the way to being declared third-team All-American, first-team All-ACC, and a junior entrant for the 2015 NFL draft.
Goldman is seen as a 3-4 nose tackle at the next level – not far from the mold of longtime Patriots anchor Vince Wilfork – for his heavy hands and ability to leverage multiple gaps while stopping the run.
The 21-year-old, projected as a first-round pick on April 30, did not work out at the NFL Scouting Combine in February, but has his Florida State pro day slated for March 31.
