The New England Patriots added to the receiver position Tuesday evening, signing free agent Brandon Gibson to a one-year, $825,000 deal, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun and National Football Post.
The organization officially announced the move Wednesday.
Gibson caught 29 passes for 295 yards and one touchdown with the Miami Dolphins last season. And over the course of six NFL seasons, the 6-foot, 210-pound wideout has caught 233 passes for 2,711 yards and 13 touchdowns.
A Philadelphia Eagles sixth-round pick in 2009, Gibson saw his most productive season arrive in 2012 with the St. Louis Rams, when he hauled in 51 passes for 691 yards and five touchdowns.
He played under current Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels with the Rams one year prior.
