Bill Belichick, Nick Caserio and Michael Lombardi saw what they needed to see.

According to Doug Kyed of and Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, the New England Patriots head coach, director of player personnel and assistant to the coaching staff were at the Indianapolis airport Sunday morning, heading home from the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine.

Their departures come after measurements, examination, interviews and two days of on-field workouts for specialists, offensive linemen, tight ends, quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers.

The information-gathering for the defensive half of the combine, in turn, is now up to Patriots assistants and scouts.

Defensive line and linebacker prospects participated in drills on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium, with defensive back prospects to follow on Monday before the week’s events officially conclude.

But while the week’s events have concluded early for three key members of New England’s staff, it’s too early to say the organization’s plans on both sides of the ball have reached that point.
