In the hours following Thursday’s session at the Arizona Cardinals’ practice facility, Akeem Ayers’ name arrived on the official injury report.

Ayers was down as a limited participant due to a knee issue, becoming the fifth New England Patriot to be limited this week.

The edge-rusher now finds himself listed alongside center Bryan Stork, defensive tackles Sealver Siliga and Chris Jones, and linebacker Dont’a Hightower, who have been limited for both of the team’s practices heading into Sunday’s Super Bowl versus the Seattle Seahawks.

Stork is coming off a knee injury suffered in the divisional round, while Siliga is coming off a foot injury suffered in the AFC Championship Game. Jones did not play in that title game against the Indianapolis Colts due to an elbow injury, while Hightower did despite a shoulder injury.

Rounding out New England’s side on Thursday was quarterback Tom Brady, once again listed as a full participant with an ankle injury.

As for the Seattle’s side, running back Marshawn Lynch (back), offensive tackle Justin Britt (knee), guard J.R. Sweezy (ankle), cornerback Richard Sherman (elbow) and safety Earl Thomas (shoulder) were all listed as full participants for the second consecutive day.

Their statuses will be updated in the final injury report of the season on Friday.
