After being listed as a limited in the last three practices, Julian Edelman is now listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. The New England Patriots wideout, who has been battling a thigh injury, arrived on the injury report earlier this week with a concussion.
Edelman caught six passes for 88 yards and a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium last weekend, but he is one of 12 Patriots questionable for the 1 p.m. kickoff at MetLife Stadium this weekend.
Running backs Shane Vereen (ankle) and LeGarrette Blount (shoulder), wide receiver Brandon LaFell (shoulder), offensive linemen Cameron Fleming (ankle) and Dan Connolly (knee), defensive ends Chandler Jones (hip) and Rob Ninkovich (heel), linebacker Dont’a Hightower (shoulder), special-teamer Chris White (ankle), and long snapper Danny Aiken (finger) are also listed on the team’s injury report as 50-50 to play.
Connolly and Arrington left Week 16 with neck and hamstring injuries, respectively, but Connolly has been a limited participant in this week’s sessions due to ankle and knee injuries. Arrington has played in all 16 regular-season games for the Patriots dating back to his first full one with the team 2010.
Tom Brady has played in all 16 since 2009. The quarterback has been a full participant this week despite an ankle ailment, and he is the lone Patriots player designated as probable for Week 16 versus the Jets.
As for New York’s side, safety Rontez Miles is officially out for Sunday’s game due to a shin injury, while wide receiver Hakim Saalim (quadriceps), safety Jaiquawn Jarrett (shoulder), and defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson (toe) are questionable.
Running back Chris Jones (knee), wide receiver Percy Harvin (ankle), offensive guard Willie Colon (knee), center Nick Mangold (finger), defensive backs Antonio Allen (hand) and Calvin Pryor (shoulder), as well as kicker Nick Folk (right hip) are probable.
