A spot has opened on the New England Patriots’ practice squad.

Defensive tackle Casey Walker has been added to the Baltimore Ravens’ 53-man roster, the team announced Tuesday, after Ravens running back Lorenzo Taliaferro, safety Terrence Brooks and cornerback Asa Jackson were placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Walker, 24, first joined the Patriots via the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad on Sept. 27, as incumbent Sealver Siliga was placed on short-term injured reserve. The 6-foot-1, 335-pound Walker went on to play in his first five NFL regular-season games, recording one start, 159 snaps, 11 tackles and one sack before Siliga returned to practice and free-agent defensive lineman Alan Branch signed.

New England waived Walker on Nov. 20 to make room for the signing of 6-foot, 250-pound halfback LeGarrette Blount. But he rejoined the team on the 10-man practice squad after clearing waivers two days later.

Walker originally entered the league as a Panthers undrafted rookie out of Oklahoma in 2013. He spent two months on Carolina’s practice squad last season. And he will now spend at least three weeks on Baltimore’s 53-man roster, having been acquired off another team’s practice squad.
