The New England Patriots held practice at the University of San Diego again on Thursday, and the team’s participation also remained unchanged.
Wideout Aaron Dobson and core special-teamer Chris White did not participate.
Dobson was placed on season-ending injured reserve before the practice due to hamstring injury suffered in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers, while White was a non-participant after missing Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, according to the official practice report.
For the fifth consecutive day, though, defensive end Chandler Jones did participate in a limited capacity.
The 6-foot-5. 265-pound pass-rusher has been out with a hip injury since Week 7, but for the first time since it occurred versus the New York Jets, Jones was available to speak with the media.
“I try not to talk about that,” the 2012 first-round pick told reporters when asked about his hip. “We’re not going to talk about the injury at all.”
Even so, his consistent attendance serves as a promising indicator for his return.
Also a limited participant was running back Shane Vereen (ankle), wide receivers Brandon LaFell (shoulder) and Julian Edelman (thigh), offensive tackle Cameron Fleming (ankle), guard Dan Connolly (ankle), defensive tackle Dominique Easley (knee), linebacker Dont’a Hightower (shoulder), cornerback Kyle Arrington (ankle) and long snapper Danny Aiken (concussion).
Edelman and Hightower both played against Green Bay, yet have been limited in the past two sessions. And Aiken, meanwhile, missed Sunday’s game as defensive end Rob Ninkovich stepped in as the team’s snapper.
Quarterback Tom Brady (ankle) and swing tackle Marcus Cannon (hip) were full participants again Thursday.
