Dominique Easley has been questionable for the New England Patriots’ last six games, but he will not play through his knee injury against the Detroit Lions this Sunday.
The rookie defensive lineman finds himself among team’s seven inactives. With him is running back James White, wideout Aaron Dobson, guard Jordan Devey, offensive tackle Cameron Fleming, defensive end Chandler Jones and cornerback Malcolm Butler.
Butler’s inactive signals the return of cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, who is active after being a scratch in the Patriots’ last three contests.
With Shane Vereen, Jonas Gray, LeGarrette Blount and Brandon Bolden ahead of him on the depth chart, it is the ninth time this season that White, a rookie fourth-rounder, will be inactive. And with Brian Tyms rounding out the receiver position, it is the eighth time that Dobson will be inactive this season.
Fleming and Jones – ankle and hip ailments, respectively – were ruled out on Friday.
As for the Lions, running back Reggie Bush, wideout Ryan Broyles, tight end Kellen Davis, guard Larry Warford, defensive tackle Nick Fairley and defensive end Larry Webster are inactive.
