Cameron Fleming joined defensive end Chandler Jones on the New England Patriots’ official practice report Wednesday, as neither of whom was a participant in the team’s walkthrough behind Gillette Stadium.
After missing the last five games with an injury to his finger, Fleming made his way back onto the field Sunday to face the Indianapolis Colts. But with just under three minutes remaining in the New England Patriots’ 42-20 win at Lucas Oil Stadium, the fourth-round pick caught his left ankle underneath Colts defensive end Bjoern Werner.
Fleming exited along with the help of the training staff and did not return. The 6-foot-6, 325-pound offensive tackle logged 38 snaps versus Indianapolis, according to Pro Football Focus, serving as an eligible tight end for 32 run plays and six pass plays.
Fellow offensive linemen Marcus Cannon and Ryan Wendell, as well as defensive lineman Dominique Easley and safety Nate Ebner were listed as limited on Wednesday. And wideout Julian Edelman was a new addition to the group with a thigh injury, while specialist Matthew Slater’s shoulder injury was removed from the injury report.
Defensive tackle Sealver Siliga, currently on short-term injured reserve due to a foot injury that’s sidelined him since September, was back at practice. The team now has 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster.
